Pro Philosopher 2 is a game about the ultimate power fantasy:
having people with all sorts of viewpoints
actually listen to you.
Coming soon in 2024!
THE STORY
With a big exam around the corner, Ariadne Jones has no time for distractions: not the party raging downstairs or the political debate on TV, and definitely not that weird philosophical afterlife she gets pulled into every time she sleeps...
Pro Philosopher 2: Governments & Grievances is the long-awaited follow up the original Socrates Jones: Pro Philosopher, challenging the player in a series of comedic debates with brilliant thinkers from across history. Master logical moves to untangle argument puzzles, find internal contradictions, and cause your opponents to freak out!
THE GAMEPLAY
Ask for Clarification, Press for Backing, seek Connections and throw out Challenges to find flaws in your opponent’s logic!
Pro Philosopher 2 builds on the first game in notable ways:
Groundbreaking new presentational flourishes such as DYNAMIC TEXT FORMATTING.
FLAVORFUL DIALOG OPTIONS OUTSIDE OF DEBATES?? IMPOSSIBLE! (But true!)
A vibrant cast! More characters, more arguments and more philosophers!
A revamped, expressive art style! Even the backgrounds have backgrounds!
About the team
Intelligible Games is a nights-and-weekends studio based in Seattle, consisting of seasoned devs at studios like Riot, Bungie, and ArenaNet. After making marketable AAA games during the day, we create narrative puzzle games about philosophers at night. Basically, we’re philosophy Batmen.
This group previously shipped IGF “Best in Design” and “Best in Narrative” nominee Elsinore as part of Golden Glitch in 2019, and the original Socrates Jones: Pro Philosopher in 2013.
How it began
The original Socrates Jones: Pro Philosopher was a 2013 web game where an out-of-his-depth accountant had to debate moral philosophy to win back his life, and was the top rated and top played game the month of its release on Kongregate.
Since flash was murdered, we remade the game for Steam for free!
